Working Title Festival #3

NL / FR

WorkSpace Brussels
presents the third Working Title Festival,
from December 3rd to 12th 2009, in different locations around Brussels.

Through intense periods of residency and in collaboration with its Brussels based and European partners, WorkSpace Brussels aims at supporting the very diverse work of artists from Brussels, Belgium and far abroad. Working Title #3 presents the emerging results in a mix of finished performances (Claire Croizé, Sara Manente, Trajal Harrell, Davis Freeman, Adva Zakai, Olivier Tirmarche & Valérie Oberleithner), premières (David Bergé & Kajsa Sandström, Anne-Linn Akselsen & Adrián Minkowicz), try-out performances of early creations (Marc Iglesias, Varinia Canto Vila, Eleanor Bauer, Dolores Bouckaert & Griet Dobbels), and projects that deal with divergent forms of presentation (Lilia Mestre, Pierre Rubio, Ben Benaouisse, Carlos Pez & Marty Schnapf).

For this third edition WorkSpace Brussels teams up with Ultima Vez to introduce you to the exciting new work that emerges out of the European network Jardin d'Europe (Aleksandra Janeva Imfeld, Florin Flueras, Doris Stelzer, Begum Erciyas, Germán Jauregui Allue, Ernst Süss & Jakub Truszkowski). Jardin d'Europe is a partnership between various European dance institutions (education centres, companies, workspaces, festivals & foundations) and organizes a yearly festival for emerging dance talent. After a first edition in the scope of the international dance festival Impulstanz (Vienna, summer of 2008) Ultima Vez now takes on the endeavour in collaboration with WorkSpace Brussels, the Royal Flemish Theatre (KVS) & the Flemish Theatre Institute (VTI). During the festival the second Prix Jardin d'Europe will be issued by a professional jury.

Still in the scope of Jardin d'Europe, the festival will be observed by 10 young dance journalists from all over Europe. Guided by two experienced mentors (Pieter T'Jonck & Anna Tilroe) they get the opportunity to review the presented artistic works, but also to critically evaluate their own material through discussion and common reflection. This Critical Endeavour project aims at supporting the development of dance criticism and is backed up by the Flemish Theatre Institute (VTI).

Closing the festival on December 12th, not without a party, dj mr. Orange, 22h00 at Beursschouwburg.
